Glossary of heritage listed roofing profiles

At Glegg Manufacturing, we understand the importance of preserving the rich heritage of buildings nationwide with authentic roofing profiles.

That’s why we offer a range of roofing profiles specifically designed to comply with heritage department specifications for heritage-listed buildings.

Our exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail ensures that our roofing solutions not only meet the strictest standards and stand the test of time, they also maintain the visual value of the heritage site.

Z600: the gold standard for heritage restoration

Just like the historic Queen’s Head, all our roof profiles are made from Z600.

Crafted with a thick galvanised coating, the Z600 metal boasts a total coated thickness (TCT) of 0.6mm, ensuring years of reliable service.

The generous layer not only provides a prominent spangle (fish scale finish), but also offers longevity, preventing the need for regular major restorations.

Heritage custom orb profile: roll forming Australia

Heritage Custom Orb is a distinctive corrugated profile that boasts an approximate 762mm coverage.

While the traditional barrel-formed heritage Custom Orb delivers deep 19mm ridges, this isn’t always achievable through roll forming. However, roll forming offers greater performance while maintaining an almost imperceptible difference.

Custom Orb Roofing

Gospel Oak: ribbed elegance

Gospel Oak offers a unique ribbed look with the same 762mm coverage as Custom Orb (by using three half-round ribs and two trays).

Not only does Gospel Oak provide exceptional coverage, but it also offers the opportunity to create a stunning fan effect.

This profile is often used on residential homes to give an old, turn of the century look but you’ll find this profile on the roofs Brisbane’s oldest churches too.

Morewood and Rogers:

Morewood and Rogers roof tiles offer a distinct aesthetic effect with subtle embossed bands.

This has been out of production for decades, but we use specialised custom tooling to press sheets of Z600 and produce an identical profile to the original manufacturer’s.

How Glegg Manufacturing can help with your heritage restoration:

We can make roofs to your exact specifications, ensuring a perfect fit and seamless integration with your heritage-listed building. If you have an original design or existing roofing element, we can even reverse engineer it to create an improved version that retains the same authentic look.
